Oscar grew up enjoying all styles of music but his start with drums began as an adult. What began as a trial drum lesson, turned into a years-long hobby with a special and focused interest in jazz. Oscar has since attended music courses at Long Beach City College, Santa Ana College, and SoCal Jazz Academy. 

Additionally, Oscar is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and brings nearly a decade of experience working with children that have disabilities and special needs. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, and brings a unique blend of education and experiences that shape the way he approaches teaching children, with a focus on playfulness and individualization. Even more, he understands the importance of  patience and working with young students at a comfortable pace. 

When not working his regular job or teaching, Oscar is usually playing or listening to jazz around Orange County with fellow musicians.
